Fall Markets

Now that the farmers' market and the garlic festival are behind me for the year, I'm planning to be at the first INDOOR farmers' market on Friday October 31 in the Gibraltar Room of the recreation complex from 9:00 to 2:00.  The indoor market will continue through the fall and winter as much as interest supports it.

Then it's the Williams Lake Medieval Market on November 15 and 16, a highlight of the year for visitors, vendors and musicians.  I'm looking forward to it and I expect to have lots of towels and wool blankets, as well as scarves, wool travel shawls and yoga mats.

Yoga Mats

New yoga mats are available now.  These are mostly wool but will have some mohair which helped them really felt up nicely (they're actually "fulled" in hot water) and are usually 4-5 mm thick.  I used chunky Canadian wool for the warp and wove with various handspun leftovers, a wonderful little project.  Please let me know if you'd like to know more.

Shetland Wool Blankets

I've recently discovered a new source of beautiful soft, lightweight Shetland wool on big cones.  Blankets woven with this wool are the KS ones listed on the Wool Blankets page.  This Shetland wool weaves into cozy, lightweight blankets that are like a down jacket.  I usually have a good supply of Shetland wool blankets available in the twill blocks weave structure as seen to the left, and in bold herringbone.

Any questions or if you'd like more information, just let me know.
